Description
4" (10 cm.) One-piece bisque head and torso, peg-jointed bisque arms and legs, depicting a woman with sculpted black hair and feathered brimmed hat, painted facial features, fancily-sculpted costume with pink fitted jacket and draped bodice, blue pants with white ruffle and gilt edging, painted red shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: circa 1865, for the French market. Value Points: rare early articulated doll with very fancy costume and accessories. The doll has a blue ribbon award from the 2009 UFDC convention.
