15" (38 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with plump facial modeling, very pale complexion, blonde sculpted short curly hair with sculpted brown tam having centered medallion ornament, painted blue eyes, black and red upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, muslin stitch-jointed body, bisque lower limbs, painted boots, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1880, attributed to Alt, Beck and Gottschalk; two variations of the model are shown in German Parian Dolls by Mary Krombholz, page 38. Value Points: rare sculpted tam with textured finish to suggest woven straw and fancy centered ornament.
