14" (36 cm.) Carved wooden doll with egg-shaped head, defined throat, black painted hair with ringlet curls around the forehead, unusual detail of ears for this model, painted brown eyes, defined curved brows, closed mouth, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted red shoes. Condition: very good, original finish albeit facial craquelure. Comments: Grodnertal, circa 1840. Value Points: the early doll is wearing his original gentleman's costume.
