25" (64 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with high domed forehead, small cut pate at back of head, brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, closed mouth, muslin stuffed torso and upper limbs, composition lower arms and legs, bare feet. Condition: generally excellent, light cheek rubs. Comments: Germany, circa 1885. Value Points: wearing outstanding folklore costume in vibrant colors with braid and embroidery trim, including matching shoes, most unusual fitted vest with bustle hips, fitted coiffe to topknot hair, and decorative ribbons and apron.
