20" (51 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, dark painted lashes, brush-stroked brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with shapely torso, gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 8 (and artist checkmarks). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1880. Value Points: fine example of the transitional era Jumeau poupee whose facial model evolved into the earliest Jumeau bebe, has finest quality creamy bisque accentuated by dramatic eyes, lovely antique costume.
