Rare French Multi-Head Set by SFBJ with Rare Flocked Hair in Original Box with Costumes

14" (36 cm.) doll. 16" x 20" box. A sturdy card stock box with lithographed paper cover contains a bisque head doll along with three other interchangeable bisque heads; each head has auburn or brunette flocked hair, blue or brown enamel inset eyes, painted curly lashes, single-stroke brows, and different expression such as laughing, smiling, crying or solemn, and each has French paper mache jointed body. The complete doll wears antique mariner costume, and also included are two additional costumes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SFBJ 235 Paris (or 227, 237, 233). Comments: SFBJ, circa 1912. Value Points: rare luxury set, the box with original paper label on inside lid, and beautifully fitted with lace and accessories.
