Description
15" (38 cm.) Standing upon a paper mache base designed to appear as though a garden path, is a bisque-head lady with portrait like heart-shaped face, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brush-stroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, carton torso and legs, wire upper arms, carved wooden hands, silk and lace gown. She is posed as though holding a harp, and when wound, music plays, she turns her head side to side, and plays the harp with both hands. Condition: generally excellent. Music and mechanism function well. Marks: 00. Comments: Vichy, Paris, circa 1865. Value Points: especially beautiful portrait face, elegant vignette with graceful movements, very fine quality of music.
