Description
8" (20 cm.) x 6". Portrait on heavy stock of woman in black dress and lace-edged black cap with streamers, set against a curtained background, having gentle expression, and with touches of enhancing glaze on costume, in original ebony frame with gilt oval medallion center. Ink script on the reverse of painting reads "Esther Francis aged 53, 1884" and with illegible name of artist. Excellent condition.
