17" (43 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head, brown glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eye cuts, painted lashes, brush-stroked and multi-feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, rose-blushed eye shadow, closed mouth with outlined lips, separately applied pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, original Jumeau all-wooden body with dowel jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, shapely carved wooden torso. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 7 EJ (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (back). Comments: Jumeau, circa 1882, the earliest period EJ model. Value Points: rare early model with exquisite luminous bisque and superb sculpting, rare original all-wooden body, wearing original blue velvet dress with jacket front, lace trim, aqua silk trim, matching bonnet, undergarments, knit stockings, leather boots.
