9" (23 cm.) Bisque socket head with pronounced plump cheeks, tiny brown glass sleep eyes, painted curly lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils of tiny nose, open mouth with outlined lips, two porcelain lower teeth, blonde mohair wig, composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1407 20 Germany. Comments: circa 1927, designed by the American artist Joseph Kallus, trademarked as "Baby Bo-Kaye" and commissioned from German doll firms by American distributor George Borgfeldt. Value Points: rare model designed by named artist, with fine luminous bisque, most endearing expression, wearing factory original costume, along with two miniature plush toy dogs on leash.
