20" (51 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and shoulder blade, very plump cheeks and chin, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, black eyeliner, painted lashes, rose-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, plump kid bebe body with gusset-jointing of hips and knees, one-piece curved kid upper arms, bisque lower arms and hands. Condition: generally excellent, very faint 2" horizontal hairline on lower front shoulderplate, bisque head and hands perfect. Marks: Bru Jne 7 (head) No. 7 (shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, his earliest bebe known as Bebe Brevete, circa 1877. Value Points: an especially beautiful bebe with most gentle expression and finest quality of bisque and painting, exquisite hands, lovely antique costume.
