26" (66 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead of adult lady with slender oval face and elongated throat, enamel inset eyes, delicately painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, black painted hair under original human hair wig in elaborately braided coiffure, muslin body with stitch-jointing at shoulders and hips, wooden lower limbs, painted red ankle boots with white buttons, early costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, attributed to Andreas Voit, circa 1840. Value Points: rare early doll with dignified presence, rare glass eyes and wig, original body, fine original finish.
