Description
18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head with solid dome except quarter-coin size opening at back crown, painted facial features, shaded blue eyes, black and incised eyeliner, rounded nose, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips, blonde mohair braided wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 120 (large incised numbers low at back neck). Comments: Germany, circa 1910, created during the art character reform movement of that era, the maker is unknown. Value Points: wonderful rare doll with very fine modeling of features, fine quality of bisque, original body in near mint condition, original folklore costume and coiffe.
