Bisque socket head with very full modeling of cheeks, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark painted eyeliner, dark painted lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with accented upturned lip corners, pierced ears, brunette human hair hand-tied wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Paris-Bebe Tete Depose 11 (head) Paris Bebe Depose (and Eiffel Tower symbol, on body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1892, the unique model for "Paris Bebe" was created by Jumeau after winning his trade name lawsuit against Danel et Cie; it appeared simultaneously with the 200 character series and can be considered one of them. Value Points: superb characterization is enhanced by finest quality bisque and sculpting, original body and body finish, fine antique silk dress and bonnet, faux watch jewelry, original muslin undergarments, knit socks, leather shoes signed Paris Depose with bee symbol.
