Description
14" (36 cm.) Carved wooden shoulder head with unusual chip carving of hair at sides and back of head, and smoothly carved facial features, painted black hair with smooth feathering around the face, painted blue eyes, black eyeliner, one-stroke brows, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, firmly stuffed kid body with stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent, original finish albeit some light craquelure and nose tip rub. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: wearing original antique costume comprising homespun trousers, cotton belted tunic, woven stockings with garters, kidskin slippers.
