Bisque socket head with rich ebony black complexion, dark brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted black curly lashes, black brush-stroked brows with decorative glaze, accented nostrils, closed mouth with coral-shaded lips, impressed philtrum, pierced ears, black mohair fleecy hair over Steiner pate, Steiner composition fully-jointed body with matching black-complexion finish, and wearing an elaborate antique costume of rich tapestries and velour, elaborate paisley turban topped by a folk art paper blue bird. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: A 17 Paris. Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1888. Value Points: exceptional quality of the very rare black complexion which is flawlessly preserved, beautifully-painted lips, fine original body finish, on the rare doll.
