Description
14" (38 cm.) Seated upon a velvet-covered wooden base is a bisque-head doll with blue glass eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig over cork pate, wire upper arms, bisque forearms. When wound, she turns her head side-to-side and nods, while strumming the guitar, and music plays. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism and music functions well. Marks: (paper label on base indicates two tunes). Comments: Vichy, circa 1875. Value Points: the beautiful doll wearing original costume and holding decorated wooden guitar.
