Description
13" (33 cm.) including base. Carved wooden head with gofun finish, tinted complexion, inset glass eyes, painted features, black wiry silk floss beard and moustache, with hair drawn into a double-looped topknot, carved wooden hands and feet, and painted black boots. He is wearing a gold stiffened-brocade kimono with ivory silk fringe, sacred treasures necklace, and is carrying a sword, battle fan, arrows, and staff, and is posed upon his original wooden base that also displays a branch upon which is perched a falcon. Excellent condition. Mid-1900s.
