Description
12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head with two faces which can be alternately revealed; one with ebony-black complexion, black enamel eyes, open mouth, coral lips, four porcelain teeth; the other with white complexion, brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with row of tiny beaded teeth, carton torso. The faces are alternately revealed by turning the knob at the top of the head, and pull-string crier in torso cries "mama", composition lower limbs, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Carl Bergner circa 1892. Value Points: rare doll with two variant complexions.
