20" (51 cm.) h. 15"l. Arranged upon a velvet-covered wooden base with metal spoked wheels is a bisque head doll which is seated on an ebony-black wooden chair, holding a tiny bisque doll wrapped in bunting; the seated doll has brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brush-stroked brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth, pierced ears, brunette human hair over cork pate, composition arms and legs, wearing pretty antique dress and tan leather shoes impressed with full figure of a doll. When pulled along, the doll pivots her upper body and head side to side as though rocking her baby. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F.G. (in scrolls). Comments: French, circa 1890. Value Points: charming mechanical pull-toy with well-functioning action.
