8" (20 cm.) Bisque socket head, Steiner deposed blue glass sleep eyes which operate from wire lever at the back of head, painted dark lashes, brush-stroked brows, accent dots at eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, accented nostrils, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over Steiner pate, Steiner composition body with jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: S. C 4/0 (incised) Steiner Bte SGDG Bourgoin (red script) (eyes also signed Steiner). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1884. Value Points: very dear and precious petite doll is all-original, with rare signed Steiner eyes, original body and body finish, softest original wig, and wearing a wonderful original rose silk dress and frilly bonnet, with original undergarments, shoes, and socks.
