Description
10 1/2" (27 cm.) Carved wooden head, painted and carved hair with unusual comb-marked outlined oval of hair at the center forehead, stippled hair at the forehead, carved coiled chignon at the nape, cloth body, wooden hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope Mission, circa 1910, wearing original aqua silk tunic with coral trim over cotton shirt, black cotton skirt with trim, cotton print trousers, linen slippers, and velvet headdress with beading. Value Points: very rare model with most distinctive coiffure, and rare costume.
