Description
20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head, very narrow blue glass jewel-like inset eyes, painted brown lashes, incised upper eyeliner, one stroke arched brows, accented nostrils, slightly-parted lips, smiling expression with deeply-impressed dimples and laughter lines around the mouth and eyes, brunette mohair wig, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, baby finger missing left hand. Marks: SFBJ 229 Paris 9. Comments: SFBJ, circa 1912. Value Points: very deep modeling of laughter lines, costume includes leather cap gilt lettered "Bleriot" with image of early airplane, in homage to the celebrated Louis Bleriot who was the first person to fly across the English Channel in 1909.
