17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead with plump rounded face, painted facial features, deeply-set eye sockets, shaded blue eyes with pronounced down-glancing pupils, all-around black eyeliner and lashes, arched feathered brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips, knees and elbows, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: restoration to back shoulderplate, body very sturdy albeit repair to right leg. Comments: French, Adelaide Huret, circa 1860. Value Points: very beautiful poupee by the landmark dollmaker with especially fine detail of eyes, blushed cheeks, fine antique gown with original mark from the Parisien doll boutique of Au Calife de Baghdad, undergarments, leather ankle boots marked C.C. and medallion celebrating Victor Hugo.
