28" (71 cm.) All-cloth doll with exaggerated elongated body, mask-pressed face with painted features, blue side-glancing eyes, mohair lashes, closed mouth, black felt cap with multi-layered sunburst coronet of gilt, gold and black felt, jointing at hips and shoulders. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1930, likely from Au Nain Bleu who offered this genre of salon dolls from their Rue de Rivoli store. Value Points: wonderfully-preserved condition of the rare model, with vibrant Harlequin costume in classic diamond-shaped print, and with black mask.
