17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head, small blue painted eyes with red and black upper eyeliner, slight feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with slightly-downcast lips in pensive expression, blonde mohair wig over plaster pate, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, wearing red flannel woolen dress with lace Bertha collar and cuffs, fancy bonnet, undergarments, socks and brown kidskin boots. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F made in Germany 10 212 (head) Excelsior Germany (red stamp on torso). Comments: Kestner, circa 1912. Value Points: few models are known to exist of this rare doll, its rarity rivaled by superb sculpting and painting of complexion and features, original body and body finish, costume is likely original.
