16" (41 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with very pale complexion, almond-shaped grey enamel spiral-threaded eyes in wide "wrap-around" eye sockets, thick dark eyeliner, short delicately painted lashes, rose-blushed eye shadow, arched feathered brows, shaded nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, French all-wooden body with dowel articulation at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, and swivel wrists, antique silk costume with Alencon lace trim, fine matching bonnet, undergarments, leather shoes. Condition: bisque excellent, body structurally excellent and with original finish, albeit worn. Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1878. Value Points: very rare luxury early portrait model with defining eyes enhanced by dark accents and delicate pale complexion, rare wooden body.
