15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with very pale complexion, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips, shapely legs and arms, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent, two fingers repaired. Comments: Barrois, circa 1865. Value Points: most delicate bisque is dramatically contrasted by brilliant cobalt blue eyes, original body, and wearing original Normandy governess costume including jewelry, and carrying all-bisque doll with cobalt blue eyes, swivel head, closed mouth, jointed arms and legs, painted shoes and socks, and wearing elaborate antique Christening gown and jacket.
