Description
17" (43 cm.) Firmly-stuffed black cloth doll with oval-shaped head, stitch-shaped nose, elongated throat, painted facial features, large eyes with white eyedots, closed mouth with defined row of tiny teeth, stuffed black cotton balls as hair buns under stitched-on cotton bandanna, stitch-jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: late 1800s. Value Points: unusually fine artistic painting of face, unusual hair construction, wearing original bright cotton layered costume, and carrying all-cloth baby at her back shoulders.
