33" (84 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, rose blushed eyeshadow, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette hand-tied human hair wig over cork pate, slender kid bebe body, Chevrot hinged hips, wooden lower legs, kid-over wooden upper arms, bisque forearms. Condition: generally excellent, arms are appropriately sized albeit of the 1900 era. Marks: Bru Jne 15 (head) Bru Jne No, 14 (shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, Chevrot era, circa 1886. Value Points: classic bebe of grand presence, with lovely bisque and painting, sturdy body, wearing a charming shepherdess costume, and with attached ink-script note indicating French provenance of the costume.
