14" (36 cm.) The finely crafted maitrise secretaire of rich mahogany has burled rosewood veneers on door fronts with triangular inlays on hidden drawer, black ebony columns at the sides, black ebony ball feet, bone escutcheon with working lock and key on drop-front writing surface, and six interior niches. Included are two early miniature books, Pearls, from the American Tract Society, and Deutsch-English Dictionary published in Leipzeig. Excellent condition. French, early 1800s.
