20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes with smaller eye cuts, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, accented eye corners and shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined shaded lips, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 9 (and artist's checkmarks) Bebe Jumeau Diplome d'Honneur (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1885, earliest presentation of the Tete model bears close resemblance to its predecessor, the incised Depose model. Value Points: beautiful bebe with lovely complexion and painting, original body and body finish, original dress including socks and signed Jumeau shoes. Private collection Lorna Lieberman.
