Two Rare 18th Century French Doll Furnishings

14" (36 cm.) h. chest of drawers. Each is of light wood and with original rubbed-red finish with applique gilt paper edging and faux keyholes, and with delicate brass drawer pulls, and some drawers with original blue fabric lining. Included are tall four-drawer chest with mirrored cabinet above the drawers; and a dessert buffet cabinet with double drawers and bottom shelf. Excellent condition. French, late 18th century, from a series of doll furnishings and cabinets created during this era; the series was first collected by the noted French doll and toy historian Henri Rene d'Allemagne who presented photographs of them in his notable books featuring 18th century playthings. The furniture is very rare to find.
