28" (71 cm.) Bisque socket head with very full cheeks and throat, amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, shaded nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips, impressed dimple in chin and philtrum, shaded nostrils, separately- modeled pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, body revarnished, tiny rub on right cheek. Marks: 13 (head). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1884. Value Points: especially fine modeling and lovely bisque on the sweet-faced wistful child.
