8" (20 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head with bald pate except for a band of fringed hair at his crown, painted bug-shaped googly eyes, black upper eyeliner, curly black brows, closed mouth with wide smile, impressed dimples at lip corners, paper mache body, jointing at shoulders and hips, painted socks and shoes, costumed as young lad in checkered Sunday best suit. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: R 73 A 13/0. Comments: Recknagel, circa 1915, from their series of googly dolls with sculpted bonnet or unusual hair styles. Value Points: rare little model with unique expression and hair style.
