33" (84 cm.) Solid domed carton shoulderhead with modeled bosom, oval-shaped face and elongated strong throat, painted brown eyes, single-stroke upper eyeliner and painted lashes, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pert upturned lip corners, original brunette ringlet curled wig on muslin cap, firm-armature torso with shapely high waist, long slender kid legs and lower torso, kid upper arms and wooden lower arms. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1820. Value Points: the early carton poupee has classic features of the French Charles X epoch defined by high waist of doll's body to accommodate to styles of the era, the doll with original finish, wig, body, and costume, and very rare to find especially in this grand size.
