Rare and Unusual Small Wooden Gentleman with Carved Moustache

9" (23 cm.) Carved wooden swivel head on wooden block torso, carved short hair with tousled forelock curl onto the forehead, painted complexion and facial features, blue downcast eyes, pointy chin, painted moustache, cloth upper arms and legs, carved wooden hands and yellow boots. Condition: structurally excellent, some retouch to paint at sides of head. Comments: Southern Germany, late 1700s. Value Points: especially fine detail of hair, moustache, original silk costume.
