20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head, large brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rich mauve shaded eye shadow, brushstroked feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, defined space between the shaded and outlined lips, defined philtrum and chin dimple, separately-modeled pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 9 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1878. Value Points: finest quality of bisque, complexion and painting, dramatic large eyes, original wig, body and body finish, early costume includes burgundy silk dress, with matching parasol and cap, undergarments, leather shoes.
