7" (18 cm.) Felt head with pressed and painted facial features depicting a plump-faced sailor, painted closed eyelids, high arched brows, closed smiling mouth with hole for insertion of large wooden pipe, red auburn hair and beard with attached black hat, firmly-stuffed plump body with attached pink and cream striped felt shirt, blue middy jacket, grey pants. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Lenci, early 1930s. Value Points: earliest version of the popular model with well-detailed all-felt costume retaining vibrant original colors, original pipe.
