Description
12" (30 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, blue glass inset "jewel" eyes, brown painted lashes, single stroke brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with hole at the center designed for bottle nipple or pacifier, flocked hair, composition baby body with rubber ball at back torso to allow "sucking" action. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SFBJ 242 Paris. Comments: SFBJ, the second version of the nursing baby created by SFBJ, circa 1912, the doll varies from the first version (#136 of this book) which has a different facial model and cut pate with wig. Value Points: very fine bisque and modeling, original flocked hair, costume and wooden nipple, original box.
