Description
20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head, small blue glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, brush-stroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth modeled as though open with suggestion of teeth, deeply impressed cheek dimples, blonde mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 590 A 5 M Germany DRGM. Comments: Marseille, circa 1912. Value Points: wonderfully animated laughing expression is enhanced by laughter crinkles around the eyes, and multiple impressed dimples at lip corners, cheeks, and chin.
