5 1/2" (14 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head with deeply sloping shoulders, sculpted hair drawn smoothly to the back of her head, painted large eyes, closed mouth, on original firm muslin body with carved wooden lower limbs with painted orange shoes, and wearing original gauze costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1820. Value Points: rare early doll with original finish, body, and costume.
