20" (51 cm.) Bisque shoulder head, light-brown sculpted hair in tousled curly fashion decorated with gilt-edged blue hair bow at the crown, painted blue downcast eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, sculpted Dresden ruffle at throat and bodice front, fancily painted magenta and rose bodice, cloth body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1875, attributed to Alt, Beck and Gottschalk; the same model with variation of decoration is shown in Identifying German Parian Dolls by Mary Krombholz, page 35. Value Points: rarity factors include brown hair, fancy coiffure trim, fancy bodice with Dresden neck ruffle which is particularly rare on ABG models.
