12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head, narrow blue glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, short stroke brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with original hole in center lips designed for bottle nipple, shaded lips, blonde mohair fleecy wig, composition bent limb baby body with rubber ball at back torso designed to activate "sucking". Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SFBJ 228 Paris 4. Comments: SFBJ, circa 1910, the very rare doll is the first nursing model presented by SFBJ, and is an entirely different model than the early Bru Teteur which had also been made by SFBJ about 1900. Value Points: outstanding modeling and bisque on the very rare character, with original body and wearing original costume.
