19" (48 cm.) Polychromed wooden carved head with oval-shaped face, sculpted hair with deep combmarks drawn around the side of face and loosely-looped at the back with tendrils of curls, enamel eyes, heavily-sculpted eyelids, well-defined nose and chin, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs with very expressive fingers, painted blue stockings, brown clogs, early costume comprising patterned cotton skirt, green velvet appliqued jacket, metallic bodice. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, early 1700s, especially expressive features with well-defined expression.
