Description
13" (33 cm.) Each has heavily textured composition socket head with painted complexion and facial features, blue/grey eyes, upper eyeliner, lightly tinted brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pouting expression, light brown or brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Munich Art Dolls from the studios of artist Marian Kaulitz, circa 1908, whose dolls are considered the forerunners of the sought-after art doll movement of the next five years; each wearing her original traditional costume. Value Points: having familial resemblance, yet the dolls have modeling and painting variations, one with small eyes and more downcast lips, the other (closely resembling K*R's 109 art character Elise) with larger eyes and very full lips; both with near mint original bodies.
