15" (38 cm.) Paper mache socket head, blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, open mouth, row of teeth, painted clown decorations on cheeks and about eyes, French paper mache body with jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Fleischmann & Blodel, circa 1890. Value Points: fine original facial finish, original body and body finish, wearing original orange silk harlequin costume with silk buttons, matching pom-pom slippers, lace ruffled collar, black velvet skull cap under felt hat with silk pom-poms.
