Description
A letter from President Franklin D. Roosevelt to "Miss Shirley Temple, Hollywood, California" thanking her for "that wonderful birthday cake", adding "my only complaint is that I ate too much of it". The letter is written on White House stationery with original envelope postmarked Feb 15, 1938. Included is a sepia-toned vintage photograph of the birthday cake with the note, "Hi there, Mr. President, your friend, Shirley Temple."
