20" (51 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead with very full lower cheeks, almond-shaped blue glass enamel eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accent center line and accent dots, unpierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, lovely white cut-work original dress, undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: J. Depose 6. Comments: French, attributed to Pierre Francois Jumeau, circa 1865. Included with the doll is a two page provenance about Harriet Appleton of Boston and her doll "Little Hattie". Value Points: exceptionally beautiful face, the poupee has original wig, sturdy original body, original costume and provenance. Ex-collection Lorna Lieberman who acquired the doll from the family of the original owner.
