22" (56 cm.) Poured wax shoulder head with rosy complexion, blue glass inset eyes in half-moon shape, tinted brows and eyeliner, accented nostrils, closed mouth with downcast lips, soft blonde inserted mohair wig, softly stuffed muslin body, poured wax lower arms and legs, bare feet. Condition: generally excellent, reglue to right leg above the knee. Comments: English, circa 1865, attributed to Montanari. Value Points: most delicate pale rose complexion enhances the delicate demeanor, the doll wears original costume of beautifully embroidered gown, undergarments, cape, silk bonnet, booties, and has old paper tag which reads "Victorian Wax Doll, a gift from Queen Victoria to Geraldine, daughter of Bishop Wilberforce".
